Momma/ Daughter Lessons: Let's Start Here

I've noticed with my 20 month old daughter that little girls will at an early age begin to model the women around them. I read an article the other day about just how much our attitudes and personalities influence the young girls around us but that is another post all it's own.
For now let's just stick with all the important things that we as moms have to be sure and teach our daughters.  I mean it's a stressful, super big job to prepare these young ladies for the life they'll lead.
Up until now, my daughter CL has fallen alongside her brothers not missing much in the line of duties around the house. She's expected to take her dirty clothes to the hamper and her dishes to the sink, though she throws them in the trash instead because she can't see over the counter. She cleans up her messes and uses her napkins. This is all done out of observation of what we do around her and what we repetitively tell her to do every day.
I was thinking what in the world should be the first momma/daughter activity where I teach her a skill she can actually take with her in life?
Baking boxed brownies: you gotta start somewhere.

Step 1: get in the kitchen floor...

Step 2: give the vegetable oil a little hug because it is THAT important to your life... Though Crisco has more uses (ask great grandma).

Step 3: After adding the ingredients, stir, stir, stir!

Step 4: Accidentally get some fudgy chocolate on your finger that you must lick clean.

Step 5: Pour brownie mix into greased dish. Clean spoon and bowl as you best see fit.

Continue to clean fingers, hands and spoon. And the bowl.

Get the bowl completely clean of all leftover chocolate. It is not good to waste any food.

Chocolate is really, really good. Better than any boy.

Last Step: Get one last lick before putting  brownies into the oven.

The oven is the big black hot thing that hurts if you touch it. It takes away this wonderful chocolate stuff for 32-37 minutes.

Just takes it away. Awaaaayyyy!

But after you eat all your good dinner, you finally get to enjoy your wonderful, fudgy brownie.

And you get to eat all the brownie you want because you made them. Enjoy.

Momma/daughter lesson #1 complete.
What's next?

    1. I agree! It's so fun every once in awhile to get down and 'mix it up' with the littles and see things from their perspective! CL and I had fun and her brothers were grateful for the fudgy brownies ;)
