I've decided that it must be a four year old thing. Now Rhett is the new character. He won't be four much longer. {turned five the end of June}. I try to write down as much as I can, but it's hard. This time goes by so fast. Before I know it, he'll be rolling his eyes and barely talking to anyone.
In honor of feisty four year olds everywhere, {who way-too-quickly turn into fearless and funny five year olds} here are some of Rhett's more recent catch phrases that have had us laughing, shocked, in awe and a little worried at times.
'When I grow up, I'm gonna be bigger than Daddo. He'll be wittler than me. Do Daddo's use sippy cups?'
'We're selling our house so it can be clean.'
'Fire Power..... Locked and loaded, baby.'
While his sister is playing dress up in a princess costume and asks Rhett to dance..... 'Her always asks me that when she's dressed up. When hers in her princess dress, she wikes to dance with me.'

'I want to be a gewl (girl). They get new shoes all the time and moms brush their hair.'
'When can I be a grown up? They get to do stuff. They do whatever they want. They get to drive a car. And talk on their phone. I want to be a grownup for one second. Or two or three seconds.'
'I'll take my drink shaken, not stirred.' {apparently heard in the Alvin and Chipmunks movie.'
On hearing some loud thunder, 'When do we take shelter?'
The day before turning five... 'I'm five now? Am I five now? Now am I five? When will I be five? When I wake up, will I be five?
On his birthday, 'I'm five now! I'm five all day? When will I be six?'

'Firecracker day is the best day! I wish every day was fire cracker day. And snow day. And Christmas Day. I wish it was those days every day.'
During his birthday interview given by 'Momma' each year for his scrapbook, he was asked 'What do you love?'
'You. I love my mom. And my Daddo. And chicken nuggets and alphabit soup.'
When Daddo jokes about not going to pick up little sister from the grandparents 'Yes hers coming home!!!! Go get her!'
Why should we go get her Rhett?
'I miss her.'
When a mom friend is putting sunscreen on her own little red head.... 'I need some, I need some! I'm white, I'm weally white and need some too!'
When told that we'll be at his brothers' baseball tournament until they lose...
'My brudders never did lose so they get to keep pwaying baseball now? I hope they never lose cause I love pwaying baseball.'
After his sister let go of her helium-filled balloon into the sky and started crying frantically as we watched it soar into the clouds,
'Jesus loves you so he loves your balloon now!'
It took me from the time he was still four, until now a month after his fifth birthday to finally record all of his rhettisms. These are just some of my favorites, and of course I forgot a lot of them if I wasn't able to write it down in the moment. But goodness gracious we get some funny quotes from our little red boy. Daddo and I have concluded after watching three boys go through toddler stages, and one peering into the pre-teen phase, that five years old is our all time favorite age.
Sleeping soundly all night ✔️
Potty-trained ✔️
Riding a bike ✔️
Eating and drinking independently ✔️
Knowing the rules ✔️
Over the toddler tantrums ✔️
Not yet to the grade-school attitude ✔️
Excited about EVERYTHING ✔️
Wants family time over anything else ✔️
The best year is now. And I bet it'll be just as good when his sister hits this age, too. Right?
